As part of Lambeth’s annual Readers and Writers Festival, Vauxhall History’s co-editor Naomi Clifford will be discussing her recently published book Out of the Shadows, a collection of essays on 18th and 19th-century women. The talk focuses on the work of Susanna Meredith, who established steam laundries in Vauxhall and Stockwell to employ women former convicts.
The talk is at Tate South Lambeth Library, 180 South Lambeth Road, London SW8 1QP on Monday 22 May 2023 at 7pm.
